Today is a special day. We celebrate this day in honor of our fathers, who are our first heroes.

Our Park La Fun resident bear, PJ the bear, is named after Paul’s dad, Paul Joseph. Paul Joseph was a very talented, funny, hardworking, and selfless man. He and Paul not only shared a first name but also a deep passion for creating art with their hands.

Paul Joseph was like a bear of a man–big, strong, gentle–and  so when it came time to name our bear character, it was easy. PJ is our tribute to a great man who resembled strength, grace, and kindness.

Paul:

“Thinking about my dad this Father’s Day. He carved this bear in his early sixties. It’s not finished but I cherish it.

I had no idea he was so artistically talented until I got older. I guess I never knew because he spent over 40 years of his life working hard to take care of his family. He was a very selfless man who never took time for himself. It wasn’t until he retired from truck driving, in his sixties, that he finally started to explore his creative side.

I miss my dad. I hope he knows I am grateful to him for passing some of his creative genes to me and for working so hard to provide a life for me that allowed me to explore my creative side.

Happy Fathers Day, dad. I love you.”

We are so excited to announce that we will be at the upcoming Unique LA Summer Show happening July 13 and 14 at the Santa Monica Barker Hangar! We had a blast at the Spring Show that took place last month at the California Market Center and we can’t wait to see your smiling faces again.

Today we remember the brave men and women in uniform who gave their lives for our freedom. Thank you to all who have served to protect this great country. You are our true heroes.

We had so much fun at this past weekend’s Unique LA Spring Show. Thank you to everyone who came by and said hello! It was wonderful seeing familiar faces and making new friends, too. Thank you for all your support!

A very big thank you to the State of Unique for having us and putting on an amazing and successful design show. We heart you!
